In February, Scott McLanahan, MD, of Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates, once again led the Charlotte-based team of the International Hospital for Children (IHC) to provide pediatric neurosurgical assistance to Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital in the Dominican Republic. They evaluated and treated 20 children with a variety of diagnoses, including brain tumors, various types of hydrocephalus and arachnoid cysts, arteriovenous malformations, Chiari malformations, and several types of congenital spinal malformations.
