Biography

As a physiatrist at Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates, Heather Havlik, MD, provides comprehensive Sports Medicine and non-surgical Orthopedic care. Her clinical approach centers on optimizing non-operative management by performing thorough diagnostic exams, developing strong patient relationships, tailoring treatment plans to each individual’s lifestyle, and encouraging consistency and commitment to recovery for the best long-term results.

Her passion for Sports Medicine began following a horseback riding injury in high school. Raised in a small town in southeastern Wisconsin, she was active in 4-H and youth leadership programs. Horses were a central part of her life, and she rode Dressage competitively through college and medical school.

Dr. Havlik met her husband Jim in college, and they moved to North Carolina in 2004. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling with her husband and their two children. She also loves reading, writing, and playing recreational tennis.

With nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Havlik is proud to serve alongside her colleagues, embracing an innovative, team-based approach to patient care. She values collaboration across specialties and is dedicated to delivering personalized, effective treatment that helps patients achieve their goals. She is excited to bring her Sports Medicine expertise to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping patients stay active and healthy.
