Ivey Weimer, PA-C

Biography

Ivey Weimer, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant at Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates. Her clinical interests include spine surgery, degenerative spine conditions, peripheral nerve disorders, and helping patients recover from both traumatic and chronic neurologic conditions. She especially enjoys helping patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can feel confident and involved in their care.

Long before beginning her career in medicine, Ivey spent time mentoring students and volunteering in South Africa. Those experiences opened her eyes to the barriers many patients face when accessing healthcare and sparked her interest in patient advocacy and education. That perspective continues to shape the way she cares for patients today.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology & Society from Cornell University, where she was a member of the Women's Varsity Softball Team. After graduation, she worked as a Certified Medical Assistant and Neurosurgery Intake Coordinator in Marquette, Michigan, where she developed a deep appreciation for neurosurgical care and the important role physician assistants play throughout a patient's surgical journey. She later earned a Master of Science in Management through Wake Forest University's Emerging Leaders Program before completing her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

When asked about her philosophy of care, Ivey says,

"I believe some of the most important things a provider can do are listen carefully, educate clearly, and treat every patient with respect and compassion. I strive to ensure that patients feel heard and supported while helping them understand their condition and treatment options."

Outside of work, Ivey enjoys staying active through many different activities. Having played Division I softball at Cornell University, she continues to make athletics an important part of her life. Her favorite hobbies? She loves woodworking and furniture restoration and hopes to own a small refinishing business one day. She also enjoys traveling, attending live music events, and spending time with her husband, Noah, their English Cream Golden Retriever, Nelly, and their cat, Roo.
