Biography

Owen Olson, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant with Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates, where he cares for both adult and pediatric patients across a wide spectrum of neurosurgical conditions. He is passionate about guiding patients through every stage of their healing journey and providing care that is both evidence-based and personalized.

A native of rural Wisconsin, Owen completed all of his academic training in his home state. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where he also pitched for the baseball team. He later received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Concordia University Wisconsin. He became an EMT during his undergraduate education and worked in both pre-hospital and emergency department settings before joining a level 1 trauma center in Milwaukee as an anesthesia technician. There, exposure to complex neurosurgical procedures solidified his passion for the field.

Owen’s path to healthcare was shaped by his parents, both lifelong medical professionals. His father, a physical therapist of more than 30 years, modeled the importance of mobility, functional recovery, and the art of listening. His mother, a nurse who began her career in the ICU before returning to practice after raising five children, demonstrated compassion, resilience, and commitment to patient care. Their influence continues to shape Owen’s belief that skilled medicine must be paired with empathy and trust.

He approaches patient care as a collaborative effort, ensuring that each patient feels heard, informed, and supported. He values shared decision-making and encourages patients to celebrate small victories, believing that consistent progress over time can transform quality of life.

Outside of medicine, Owen enjoys hiking, backpacking, recreational baseball, caring for his collection of houseplants, spending time with family and friends, and rooting for Wisconsin sports teams.

Owen chose to join Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates for its long-standing commitment to community, comprehensive continuum of care, and culture of integrity and compassion, values that align closely with his own approach to patient-centered practice.
