Biography

Taylor Duggins, PA-C, is a physician assistant with Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates. With a background in emergency medicine and urgent care, Taylor has cared for patients with a variety of brain and spine injuries as well as chronic pain. She was drawn to neurosurgery because of the opportunity to follow patients throughout their care and be part of a team helping them find solutions that improve their quality of life.

Taylor’s path to healthcare began a little differently. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Finance from High Point University in 2015 and started her career in corporate marketing. After shadowing friends and family members in healthcare, she quickly realized becoming a physician assistant was the right path for her. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2021.

When it comes to patient care, Taylor believes in taking the time to understand the full picture.

“My approach to patient care is rooted in being methodical and treating the whole patient, not just the diagnosis in front of me,” Taylor said. “I start by truly listening and taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns, values, and goals before moving toward a plan.”

Patient education is also important to Taylor. She enjoys talking with patients about lifestyle changes that can make a difference in their well-being, including nutrition, exercise, sleep, community, and mental health.

Taylor grew up in Pfafftown, North Carolina, just outside of Winston-Salem, and now lives in Charlotte. In her free time, she loves staying active and trying different gyms around Charlotte. She also enjoys hiking, traveling with friends, cooking, and walking her Bichon Shih Tzu, Millie. She is also an avid deer hunter.
