Biography

For Dr. Gooldy, neurosurgery is more than a technical profession; it’s a calling rooted in connection. Growing up in Japan as the child of missionaries, Dr. Gooldy learned to relate to people from all backgrounds. This early experience shaped his commitment to being a bridge, someone who can meet patients and families on their most difficult days and guide them through complex medical decisions with compassion and clarity.

As a pediatric and adult neurosurgeon, he finds purpose in the privilege of caring for both children and adults, knowing that the impact of that care can ripple across decades and throughout families. Whether it’s a child waking up from a successful surgery or a family finding answers after years of uncertainty, Dr. Gooldy is dedicated to being present, attentive, and a source of steady support.

Dr. Gooldy is drawn to CNSA for its national reputation, emphasis on innovation, and commitment to truly compassionate care. He values the group’s unique "privademic" model, which blends the resources and flexibility of private practice with a strong dedication to academic excellence, research, and resident education.

Most importantly, CNSA is a team of people who love what they do and enjoy doing it together. For Dr. Gooldy, that camaraderie and shared purpose is what makes this work deeply fulfilling.

When he’s not in the OR or clinic, Dr. Gooldy enjoys live music, golfing, snow skiing, andcheering on the Florida State Seminoles.
