Biography
Tyler Simpson is a nurse practitioner at Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates (CNSA) with a special interest in caring for patients with chronic neck, mid-back and low-back pain. She also evaluates patients for injection therapy and performs trigger point injections for myofascial pain and Botox injections for chronic migraine headaches and cervical dystonia.
Tyler always knew she wanted to become a nurse and was also inspired by a nurse practitioner she saw when she was younger. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher College and her Master of Science in Nursing from Fairfield University. She is certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
When it comes to patient care, taking the time to listen is especially important to Tyler.
“I pride myself on listening to my patients and getting to know them individually in order to provide the most comprehensive care.”
She also believes managing chronic pain is a joint effort between the patient and their care team.
“Eating well, exercising and taking care of your body is just as, if not more, important than injections or medications for chronic pain.”
Originally from central New York near Utica, Tyler grew up in a much slower-paced, rural part of the state. When she joined CNSA, the team's environment reminded her of the practice she left in Connecticut. She was drawn to how everyone worked together “as a team and family rather than just coworkers.”
Outside of work, Tyler enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and watching hockey. She and her husband have a son and a Samoyed named Oakley, who they consider their first baby.
